Abstract

This research aims to: 1) study the local wisdom of handicraft weaving using water hyacinth to create an identity for community products and enhance commercial value, 2) manage knowledge of local wisdom in handicraft weaving using water hyacinth to create an identity for community products and increase commercial value, and 3) transmit the knowledge of local wisdom in handicraft weaving using water hyacinth to create an identity for community products and enhance commercial value.  Researchers employed a mixed-method approach combining qualitative and quantitative research methods. Data is collected from weaving groups to develop and disseminate knowledge to the community. A satisfaction survey is conducted on the activities of knowledge transfer, analyzed using basic statistical values. research Findings revealed several aspects. The two groups involved in water hyacinth weaving possess different wisdom in their craftsmanship due to varying contexts, skills, patterns, and details of the woven products. Data that was previously scattered across areas has been gathered and organized for product design development that meets consumer needs before being shared with the community. Results from conducting knowledge transfer activities indicated participants’ high satisfaction level with three specific activities recorded at an average score of 4.54. Weaving communities can utilize these techniques as a foundation for developing new product designs, creating distinctive features for water hyacinth woven products. Furthermore, those who received this transferred knowledge can continue sharing it with other group members and communities.
