Abstract

This research article aimed to identify and analyze the roles of various types of cultural landscape elements that supported cultural tourism in the Yom River Basin, Ban Tuek Subdistrict, Si Satchanalai District, Sukhothai Province. The study encompassed 14 communities, with data collected from 14 community leaders and 70 local residents experienced in agriculture and traditional ways of living. The analysis utilized physical analysis and interviews. The findings identified eight key types of cultural landscape elements: historical elements that attracted tourists, geographical and environmental elements that reflected sustainable cultural landscape management, land use and infrastructure elements that facilitated efficient space utilization, cultural and traditional elements that invited tourists to experience local customs, social and community elements that reflected local wisdom and lifestyles, economic elements that generated income through local product sales, symbolic and spiritual elements that highlighted religious significance, and architectural and landscape design elements that represented local ways of life. The role of these elements was crucial in developing cultural tourism programs, fostering community appreciation of their cultural and environmental assets, and supporting sustainable cultural landscape management to enhance tourism and community economic development.
