Development of a Prototype System for Assessing Korean Pronunciation Skills in Thai Teachers
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research aimed to develop and evaluate user satisfaction with a prototype system for assessing the Korean pronunciation achievement of Thai teachers. The system was developed by integrating applications from the Google Workspace suite—such as Google Forms, Google Sheets, and Google Sites—together with an audio recording application. The system was designed to collect, analyze, and evaluate users’ voice recordings in real time through pre-instruction, during-instruction, and post-instruction assessments. The sample group consisted of 100 Korean language teachers working in schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC). The findings revealed that the system effectively computed statistical measures such as mean, standard deviation, and performed hypothesis testing using the t-test. The average pronunciation achievement score before instruction was 83.34%, which increased to 89.90% after instruction. The difference was statistically significant at the .05 level (Sig. = .00). Regarding user satisfaction, the overall mean score was 4.63 with a standard deviation of 0.55, indicating a high level of satisfaction. These results reflected the system’s efficiency in data management, its capacity to track pronunciation development accurately and promptly, and its strong acceptance among users.
