Abstract

The study of factors affecting the decision to join the community tourism group in Ban Khun Tae, Tambon Doi Kaeo, Amphoe Chom Thong, Chiang Mai Province, aimed to study the personal, economic and social characteristics of the people in community and the factors affecting the decision to join the community tourism group in Ban Khun Tae to propose problems and suggestions for joining the community tourism group. The sample group consisted of 244 residents of Ban Khun Tae. A questionnaire was used as the data collection tool. The results of the study found that personal characteristics, age and education level, economic data, including income and number of workers in the family, and social characteristics, including length of stay in the community and channels for receiving community tourism news, attitudes toward community tourism and adherence to the reference group of Ban Khun Tae, and the perception of self-efficacy of the residents had a statistically significant effect on the decision to join the community tourism group.
