Visual Communication Design by Semiotic Analysis to Develop A New Image of Banton Seagrass Weaving Community Enterprise,

Abstract

This research investigated the development and enhancement of product display visuals for Banton Seagrass Weaving Products. The study's objectives were 1) to design visual communication systems 2) to create a product display layout model and 3) to evaluate satisfaction with the new design image. Author analyzed qualitative data for defining design strategy from 1) OTOP Posters design focused on Midyear; Silpachep; City on 2010-2024 by Semiotic analysis. 2) Analyzed Visual Identities based on surveying by community participation; interview; and quantitative data analysis from questionnaires. With robust information was used to create design strategy of 3 design practice for product display and exhibition. For instance, Type 1. Pictorial iconic, Type 2. Narrative Illustration, Type 3. Geometric style. Finding was present Visual Identity, Image and color in type 1 got excellent result. Both logo and color in Type 1 and 2, Mean is not different. From the design practice results, author defined visual design prototype and applied to display and exhibition. Survey the target group satisfaction with the new visual communication strategy in OTOP City 2024, the grand local product trade fair in Thailand. The satisfaction of visitors was excellent. Result reveals the motivation of visitors who need to join in next event after they were interacted with new image. Average is 84.5. This research is specific about local development with visual communication design practice. The target group was interested in attending the trade fair after seeing the new image at 84.5 percent. This research is a specific guideline for developing knowledge about the image system and OTOP product display.
