ความรู้เบื้องต้นและการทำความเข้าใจทางด้านกายภาพของเสียงที่ใช้ใน การร้องเพลงถือเป็นสิ่งสำคัญที่นักร้องจะต้องตระหนักถึง เพื่อสามารถใช้เครื่อง ดนตรีที่ติดตัวมาตั้งแต่กำเนิดให้มีประสิทธิภาพสูงสุด อันได้แก่ ความเข้าใจ กระบวนการทำงานของอวัยวะที่ใช้ในการร้องเพลงรวมไปถึงกล้ามเนื้อต่าง ๆ ใน ร่างกายที่ต้องทำงานสอดประสานกันอย่างเป็นธรรมชาติ มีความรู้เรื่องช่วงเสียง เพื่อสามารถเลือกบทเพลงและใช้เสียงได้อย่างเหมาะสม รวมไปถึงการดูแลรักษา เสียงคงไว้ซึ่งคุณภาพเสียงที่ดี เพื่อเป็นพื้นฐานในการพัฒนาการร้องในขั้นสูงต่อไป

Basic knowledge and understanding of the physical properties of voice used in singing are important for the singer to be able to utilize the natural inborn instrument for maximum efficiency. The procedure includes an understanding of the processes of the organs used for singing, including body muscles that work together naturally. Knowledge of the voice enables the singer to choose songs and use the sounds optimally.Most importantly, the signer has to maintain the quality of voice to serve as a basis for the development of more advanced singing.
