Abstract
This study aimed to investigate peace through individuals and dimensions of their relationships in different contexts in the stories, and dimensions of their definitions. The study incorporated the concept of peace into the analysis of narrative components. The narratives used in the study were Sin Raeng by Thongchai Suragarn, Kon Tor Nok by Paitoon Thanya, and Lok Bai Lek Kong Salman by Kanokpong Songsompan. The analysis of dimensions of the characters’ relationships revealed that the poor were exploited in the market system. Occupations which depended on communal lands were threatened by the structural violence whilst human was degraded to a product in modern tourism industry. For the aspect of definitions, the process of development made people doubt themselves and their self-worth, disrespect each other, and aggravate conflicts among them. A possible solution to return to a happy life is to accept and value each other’s’ different ways of life.
