An Integrated Fire Disaster Management System

Abstract
This academic article aims to (1) study the competency of fire disaster management by the Mueang Municipalities of the Nakhonchaiburi group in the northeastern region (2) study the conditions of the disaster prevention systems of these municipalities and (3) study the relationships between competency in the management of fire disasters and fire disaster prevention systems. The research method used is quantitative research by from specific samplings in 6 Mueang Municipalities. The data from sample population of 620 were collected from administrative group. The quantitative data were analyzed by percentage, mean (M) standard deviation (SD) and canonical-correlation analysis (CCA).
Findings are as follows: The competency of fire disaster management level namely, having a policy of readiness in preventing fire disasters prior to occurrence, a policy for controlling the situation during fire disasters, a policy of relief and rehabilitation after fire disasters and the capability to prevent and alleviate the consequences of fire disasters were mostly evinced at a moderate level. The levels of fire disaster prevention systems namely, the standards for the design of fire disaster prevention systems, the standards for the use, the standards for maintenance and repair, and the standards for storage of fire disaster prevention equipment were mostly displayed at a moderate level. Insofar as hypothesis testing, this study shows that the competency of fire disaster management and fire disaster prevention systems were positively and directly correlated.
