The Achievement Motivation and Vocational Students

Abstract

This academic article aims to analyze the achievement motivation of vocational students based on the achievement motivation theory of McClelland, Atkinson and Alschuler.


Finding are as follows: The vocational students are necessary manpower to develop the country, especially their performance serve the growth of industry, commerce and service works. The strong image of the vocational students are they have knowledge, experience, and skills in performing professional work, being united, and helping each other but the weak image of some vocational students, who have problems, are using over emotion without reason to action, by its result, impacts the society and lack of communication skills. The achievement motivation is the need to have success which consists of multi characteristics factors such as goal setting, Planning, patience, self-confidence, responsibility, forecasting, feedback and setting excellent standard etc. Using group counseling to enhance achievement motivation will help the vocational students to know themselves, self-esteem, and desire to get success has the characteristics of a person who has achievement motivation. Finally at the end of the counseling process most of them have quality people with new good image that is proud to be accepted by society.
