Development of a Carbon Footprint Assessment Platform in Industrial Areas (Industrial Park) Thailand

Abstract
This research aims to (1) study the trends and needs of carbon footprint assessment systems in industrial areas (Industrial Park) Thailand, (2) Develop a prototype platform for carbon footprint assessment, and (3) evaluate the efficiency of the developed prototype platform. The research used a research and development (R&D) model by applying the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, trial, and evaluation steps. The target population includes 11 stakeholders involved in managing and recording carbon footprint data in industrial park, comprising executives, operational staff, and consultants. Data was collected through questionnaires and in-depth interviews, analyzed using descriptive statistics and content analysis.
The results of the research found that the developed platform could effectively meet the needs of users in terms of data recording, carbon footprint calculation, and dashboard data display. The users were highly satisfied in all aspects, especially in terms of accuracy, ease of use, and access to real-time data. Policy recommendations are to support the actual implementation of the platform at the industrial estate level and link it with government systems to strengthen the national carbon footprint database, as well as to use it as a basis for developing environmental mechanisms such as carbon tax systems and carbon credit markets in the future.
