Abstract
THE INFLUENCE OF TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP ON ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE, JOB SATISFACTION, ORGANIZATION COMMITMENT AND EMPLOYEE JOB PERFORMANCE OF JAPANESE AUTOMOBILE PART MANUFACTURER IN THAILAND
In this dissertation, the researcher examined (1) the influence on organizational culture. (2) the influence on job satisfaction (3) the influence on organizational commitment (4) the influence on employee job performance and (5) the congruence of a model of the influence of transformational leadership on organizational culture, job satisfaction, organizational commitment and employee job performance of Japanese manufacturers of automobile parts in Thailand. The researcher used both qualitative and quantitative methods to carry out this inquiry. The quantitative method was an empirical research by collecting data from 411 workers in Japanese manufacturers of automobile parts in the eastern industrial estates in Thailand and using a questionnaire as the research instrument. Descriptive statistics used in data analysis included percentage, mean and standard deviation. Furthermore, an analysis of structural equation model was also used in carrying out the investigation. The qualitative research involved in-depth interviews that were conducted with five key informant persons from Japanese manufacturers of automobile part in Thailand and from Thai industrial community.
Findings showed that the model was congruent with empirical data at a good level. Accordingly, chi-square () was at 102.748; degrees of freedom (df) at 101; /df at 1.017; the probability value (p-value) at 0.433; goodness of fit index (GFI) at 0.982; adjusted goodness of fit index (AGFI) at 0.932 and root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA) at 0.007. In addition, the following results were found: (1) transformational leadership has a positive influence on organizational culture, job satisfaction and organizational commitment, (2) organizational culture has a positive influence on job satisfaction and employee job performance, (3) job satisfaction has a positive influence on organizational commitment, and (4) organizational commitment has a positive influence on employee job performance.
