Abstract
A Study on Gender Inequality in Thailand Hospitality Industry: Career Advancement in Thai Female Managers Dimension
This research aimed to find out the influencing factors to female managers’ expectation for supporting female supervisors in upper – level management. According to the previous study context male managers in the eastern culture societies such as Japan and Thailand vowed female supervisors inappropriate to be managers comparing to male. Female supervisor’s concentrated to family care and acting in softly manner. This study operated by using data from inquiring female supervisors (married with dependents) and female managers for 130 pairs in Hospitality industry. The analysis from the structural equation revealed that female managers did not support female supervisors for career advancement in the context of person organization misfit. Whereas the female supervisors evaluated that Thai culture is a negative crucial factor to their career advancement.
