Abstract
Development of Work Performance Competence in Inquiry of Female Inquiry Officers Attached to the Royal Thai Police
This study is qualitative in nature. The objectives of the study are three fold : (1) to ascertain the competence of female police officers whose responsibilities are concerned with the inquiry work (2) to ferret out ways and means of enhancing the competence of female investigative officers regarding their work performance on the inquiry work (3) to determine problems and obstacles as well as solutions pertaining to the development of the work performance competence of female police officers engaged in inquiry work. The data analysis has brought to light the facts specified below. 1)The competence of female inquiry officers comprehended their capacity to work on the result – oriented technique , ethical and moral adherence , and mutual cooperation. That was to say , being women was in a better position to help human trafficking victims, sexual abused victims , and the like. As a result , the victims could get psychological treatment ; the victims were not hesitant to tell the truth to female , inquiry officers. For this reason , female , inquiry officers were committed to the great success in inquiry of cases related to children , youths , as well as cases related to sexual abuse , family violence and human trafficking. 2) With regard to the guidelines or approaches in enhancing the work performance - competence of female , inquiry officers, it was found that the roles and authority should be properly assigned to female , inquiry officers, attempts should be made to check their work performance to make sure that they abide by the laws , rules , and regulations of the government, supervision of their work performance as well as provision of facilities is essentia , finally, efforts should be made to improve the control system of the dossierbe it accomplished or unaccomphished. 3) With respect to the problems and obstacles concerning the development of work performance of the female , inquiry police officers , they were : the number of the female , inquiry officers was far from enough : and they received kickbacks from some service users due to their low incomes as well as skimpy fringe benefits.
