Error analysis of “Chao”, “Dui”, and " Xiang " for Faculty of Liberal Art students, Princess of Naradhiwas University

Abstract
This research aimed to analyze the errors of using preposition of direction about “Chao”, “Dui”, and “Xiang” of Faculty of Liberal Art students, Princess of Naradhiwas University. The samples used in this study were 29 second-year and third-year students, Faculty of Liberal Art students, Princess of Naradhiwas University. The research instrument used in this study was the test of using adverb of time about “Xiang”, “Dui”, and “Chao” whose reliability was 0.81. The data of this study were analyzed by using frequency value and percentage.
The findings of this study revealed that firstly, the students’ errors mainly involved in the disordering of words and components was 42.43 percent. Secondly, overrepresented definitions were occasionally found at 30.69 percent. Thirdly, an omission or excess of words or components of a sentence was at 16.59 percent, and the last was an admission of words or components of a sentence at 10.29 percent. All the findings above showed that the students were influenced by the use of mother tongue, and Chinese preposition of time like “Xiang”, “Dui”, and “Chao” had its limitation and complexity of grammatical structures.
