Abstract

The purposes of this research were: 1) to study the cooperation between people and government in land readjustment for the development of Suanluang Rama IX and its vicinity; 2) to study the level of such cooperation ; 3) to investigate factors affecting cooperation between people and government in the above plan ; and 4) to suggest a way through which development of cooperation between them. The population of this research were 32 landowners chosen via purposive sampling and 10 authorities chosen for in-depth interview. Data were collected by using questionnaires and indepth interview. The statistical analysis used was based on descriptive statistics, frequency, percentage, mean (), standard deviation, correlation analysis and inferential statistics multiple regression analysis. It was found from the study that: 1) The majority of the respondents were males, aged 51 years, being married, graduated with a Bachelor’s degree, monthly salary income of baht 25,000 and higher, being a businessman/engaging in trade of commerce ; 2) The overall of the cooperation was at a high level ; 3) Individually factors contributing to the said cooperation were satisfaction towards the project, understanding of the project by the people, the host of the project, and land laws involved. 4) Measures toward the development of the cooperation are including followers: (a) measures of land laws, strict enforcement of laws, regularity / equity and fairness; (b) opportunity for expressing idea and opinion of the people ; (c) promotion of attitude and cooperation, public-degradedness, law and order, cleanliness and environment and the cooperative use of pathways ; (d) efficient public relations on this matter ; (e) promotion of people’s attitude towards the government via good governance practices and strictly follow the land laws.
