Abstract

Research objective to study the perception of state hospital library personnel in Bangkok Metropolitan area of work-related factors affecting health in the aspects of knowledge-acquired information resource, knowledge-acquired content, application of knowledge-acquired content, and confronted problem. Research methodology is survey research using questionnaire in conducting research. Data was collected from library personnel such as librarians, library officers, library staffs and personnel in other positions who have worked in 31 state hospital libraries in Bangkok Metropolitan area for total of 142 persons. The questionnaires were returned from 130 persons or 91.55%. Data was analyzed by frequency distribution to find percentage, mean and standard deviation. Research result: The maximum number of 127 library personnel or 97.69% acquired knowledge from internet information resource and all of 130 library personnel or 100% acquired knowledge in the issue in type of work-related factors affecting health. The content applied by the maximum number of 77 library personnel was the method of health prevention and care from work-related factors affecting health, and it was also applied in high and moderate level. The problem confronted by the maximum number of 128 library personnel was the inadequacy of television programs in providing knowledge of the work-related factors affecting health. In addition, the library personnel confronted with the problems on every issue in moderate level. The state hospital library personnel in Bangkok Metropolitan area could apply acquired knowledge for prevention and care of self-health and health of other persons in correct ways, and to be the guideline for information resource in knowledge provision in the aspect of prevention and care of library personnel health that occurred or may occur in the future.
