This research was a qualitative research whose objectives were to study factors that are a problem in the efficiency of construction supervision and to propose solutions to the problems of construction supervision in Phnom Penh, Cambodia The population used in this study was the construction contractors or construction foremen with at least 5 years of work experience from a leading construction company in Phnom Penh Cambodia. Objective Random Sampling was used to select the samples. The researcher determined the sample size of 9. However, the sample size could be fewer than 9 if the data were saturated with construction contractors or construction foremen with at least 5 years working experience
The results of the research revealed that the factors that were problems in the efficiency of construction management in Phnom Penh, Cambodia were cost, time, labor, materials, tools &equipment, regulations or work safety laws and environmental conditions. The most problematic factor was the cost factor, followed by the labor factor, material factor, equipment factor, time factor, work safety factor, regulatory or legal factors and environmental conditions respectively. Due to the fact that all factors were important factors in construction work, it was impossible to lose one factor and all factors had costs that caused the total cost. Therefore, cost factor was a factor that caused the problem in the efficiency of the management of construction supervision the most. If all factors were supervised well, the contractors would be able to control the cost and have profits under the quality of work that met customer specifications. Consequently, this was considered to be an effective and efficient construction supervision.
