ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATION GUIDELINES OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS UNDER THE OFFICE OF SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA 7

Abstract

This study aimed to 1) study the academic administration of school administrators under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Area 7, and 2) study the academic administration guidelines of school administrators under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Area 7. The research sample included teachers in the academic administration under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Area 7, in a total of 322 people. The key informants of the in-dept interview consisted of eight school administrators. The instrument comprised of the five-rating questionnaire and interview form. To analyze the data, the researcher utilized frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis. Findings revealed that firstly, an overall academic administration in the planning of academic tasks of the school administrators under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Area 7 was at a high level. Secondly, the academic administration guidelines in the planning of academic tasks of school administrators showed that the school administrators determined the goals and specified the structure of the academic work clearly, which was consistent with the school's philosophy. For the operation concerning teaching and learning, the school administrators have encouraged teachers to specify teaching objectives that were appropriate for the learners and curriculum, supported teachers to create a variety of teaching plans and activities in accordance with the aptitude and interest of the learners, and applied the lesson plan effectively. For the administration regarding teaching and learning, the school administrators have a systematic operation by a meeting, explanation, guideline determination, implementation, and follow-up on the results of academic supervision in educational institutions. For the measurement and evaluation, the school administrators established regulations, guidelines by encouraging teachers to develop and use tools to measure and evaluate, including the development of various learners, the creation of information systems, and the implementation of the assessment results to improve teaching and learning progress.
