WELFARE MANAGEMENT FOR THE AGED OF LOCAL ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION IN PATTANI PROVINCE

Abstract

The research on Welfare Management for The Aged of Local Administrative   Organization in Pattani Province aimed to 1) studying the level of social welfare services for the elderly and 2) to study the factors affecting the provision of social welfare services for the elderly of local government organizations in Pattani Province, using a mixed research method. The quantitative research method was collected by questionnaires. The target population consist of 18,963 peoples. The sample consisted of 392 elderlies in the area. The statistics used consisted of mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis, the qualitative research method was interviewed the key informants consisted of mayors and district administrators, a total of 15 informants.

            The research found that 1. The provision of social welfare services for the elderly of local administrative organizations in Pattani Province in 6 aspects overall was at a high level. 2. factors of Elderly Social Welfare Services affecting the Elderly Social Welfare Services of the Organization, the overall local administration consisted of the health of the elderly, safety in residence social security and public assistance, the regression coefficient was .75, .62, .51 and .52, respectively, and the prediction coefficient (R2) of .78 was able to predict 78 percent of the outcome.

            The results of interview analysis revealed that health and medical treatment an identification card was issued to the elderly to receive hospitalization without income expenses, and to promote the establishment of a community elderly welfare fund. A foster family service was provided as a service provided to single or homeless elderly people. For Recreation, there was a center for news and socializing for the elderly, social security, family, caregivers and protection, there was facilitation and safety for the elderly. In terms of building services and supporting networks, there was a day care center for the elderly and home service community care system for the elderly.
