Abstract

The purposes of this study were to investigate The United States’ rebalance to Asia Policy and its impacts on the cobra gold exercise. Qualitative research technique was applied in this study. Data was collected from documents, lectures, disks and internets. Members of Exercise Headquarters of the Cobra gold ๒๐๑๕ were interviewed. The findings of this study were as follow:

The United States’ rebalance to Asia Policy is to balance China’s regional hegemonic competition, by employing the naval forces of the US and allies to take control the energy route of China.

Impact on the Cobra Gold Exercise is likely to train maritime by duplicating the actual situation in the Gulf of Aden into the exercise’s situation, which accordance with the rebalance to Asia policy.

Recommendation: The Supreme Command Headquarter should comprehensively provide the knowledge and understanding of strategic environment to the armed forces commanders and staffs in order to develop joint and combine exercises with multinational armed forces.
