Development Approach of potential of medicines and products from Thai herbs to international standards

Abstract

The objectives of this content aimed to create the pattern of guidelines in terms of developing and standardizing the herbal medicines and herbal products to be recognized internationally. Thailand has variety of natural herb resources, effective agricultural technologies, the long time inherited knowledge and wisdom of applying herbs in several treatments; prevention, alleviating symptoms of illness, in forms of herbal medicines, food as medicine through the herbal health care products. Hence, Thailand is potentially develop its country to the center for the production of herbal medicine and herbal products that met the standards. All were studied the advantages and the disadvantages of the production process and the usage of medicines and products from Thai herbs and enhance the full-term development of Thai herbs starting from the effective cultivation and harvest, herbal medicine processing and production processes through trustworthy clinical trial researches, propagating the knowledge of safe herbal medicine and herbal products taking. The creation of model mechanism can be systematically applied and further developed the herb development with all processes in all areas of Thailand herewith the effectiveness of herbal products and medicines to enhance the country’s economic competitiveness in pharmaceutical industry and one of the alternative of health care methods to the world’s population with safe and sustainable principles of human-centered health care.
