RMUTP Research Journal Humanities and Social Sciences

Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) publishes the RMUTP Research Journal Humanities and Social Sciences, under the principles of good governance and strict adherence to ethics, roles, and genuine social responsibility. An editorial board consisting of both internal and external members is appointed by the university's highest executives, with clearly defined duties and responsibilities to ensure transparent and independent operations in developing a progressive and high-quality journal. The production of this journal serves as a connection between three parties: 1) Authors, 2) Editors, and 3) Peer Reviewers, under the quality assurance of the Thai Journal Citation Index (TCI) Center. To ensure the journal meets international quality standards, RMUTP has established the following ethics, roles, and duties for authors, editors, and peer reviewers:

Ethics, Roles, and Duties of Authors

1. Manuscripts submitted by authors to the RMUTP Research Journal Humanities and Social Sciences, for consideration must not be submitted to any other journals simultaneously. An author may only proceed with a submission to another journal if the manuscript has been rejected and the author has received official confirmation of the result from the editorial board.

2. Authors must not engage in plagiarism of others' academic work and must not practice self-plagiarism. When using information from other authors in their manuscript, authors must provide proper in-text citations and references at the end of the paper according to academic standards.

3. Authors must present the results of experiments, analysis, or calculations honestly. They must not engage in fabrication or misrepresentation of facts and must not create false evidence to support their findings.

4. Authors are required to express gratitude to individuals or organizations in the acknowledgments section. This applies if the authors received research funding, assistance with tools, machinery, equipment, or other forms of support that contributed to the success of that specific manuscript.

5. RMUTP Research Journal Humanities and Social Sciences, does not allow the addition of uninvolved persons to the list of authors. This includes those who did not participate in the research or the writing of the manuscript. Every author listed in the manuscript must share responsibility for the work.


Ethics, Roles, and Duties of Editors

1. The Editors of the RMUTP Research Journal Humanities and Social Sciences, are responsible for the preliminary screening of manuscripts before they enter the journal’s formal process. This includes reviewing the content against the journal’s scope, checking formatting, evaluating the academic depth, screening for plagiarism, and selecting peer reviewers, as well as assessing the overall quality of the manuscript.

2. The Editors must conduct preliminary manuscript reviews based on morality and ethics, without bias or personal feelings. They must maintain neutrality toward the authors and their affiliated organizations.

3. The Editors must designate or select peer reviewers with expertise directly related to the manuscript’s field. Assigned reviewers must not be from the same organization as the author, and all reviewers evaluating the same manuscript must not belong to the same organization. This is to prevent any potential conflicts of interest.

4. The Editors must maintain confidentiality regarding the identities of authors and reviewers. This means reviewers must not know the names or affiliations of the authors, and authors must not know the names or affiliations of the reviewers (Double-Blinded Peer Review) to prevent potential conflicts.

5. The Editors of the RMUTP Research Journal Humanities and Social Sciences, are strictly prohibited from publishing their own manuscripts in the journal they oversee, without exception.

6. The Editors must not have any illegitimate conflicts of interest or ethical breaches involving authors or reviewers. Soliciting or accepting any form of personal gain is strictly forbidden.

7. The Editors must oversee and direct all journal processes with integrity and straightforwardness, without showing favoritism or providing improper assistance that violates morality, ethics, or good governance.

8. The Editors are responsible for cooperating with, controlling, and supervising the journal to ensure accuracy and quality in accordance with the standards set by the Thai Journal Citation Index (TCI) Center.


Ethics, Roles, and Duties of Peer Reviewers

1. Peer reviewers are responsible for evaluating manuscripts in various aspects according to the format prescribed by the RMUTP Research Journal Humanities and Social Sciences, with academic rigor. They must provide suggestions or academic reasoning that is beneficial to the author.

2. Peer reviewers must complete the evaluation of manuscripts assigned by the Editors and the Editorial Board within the specified timeframe for the maximum benefit of the author.

3. Peer reviewers must consider whether their expertise matches the content of the assigned manuscript. If a reviewer finds that the content does not align with their true expertise, they must promptly notify the Editorial Board and decline the review.

4. Peer reviewers must maintain ethical standards in their evaluation, avoiding bias or prejudice against the manuscript’s content. They must not use personal opinions that do not align with academic theories or lack reliable evidence as criteria for judging the manuscript.

5. Peer reviewers must maintain confidentiality by not disclosing the content of the author’s manuscript to any other person during the evaluation period.
