Abstract

This paper discusses the demographic situation in Germany and its probable economic and social consequences. Germany is ageing rapidly, amd politics has so far largely ducked away with the problem. The Grman experience may send a warning to countries thst still are in a more favourable demographic situation: ageing is manageable-unless one waits too long.
