Entrepreneurial Characteristics of Private School Administrators Affecting Strategic Management of Private Schools in Bangkok

Abstract


The purposes of this research were to study 1) the level of entrepreneurial characteristics of private school administrators in Bangkok, 2) the level strategic management of private schools in Bangkok, and 3) the entrepreneurial characteristics of private school administrators affecting strategic management of private schools in Bangkok. The population included 519 private school administrators in Bangkok, and the samples were 225 private school administrators in Bangkok which were obtained by cluster samplings method. The research instrument was a questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis.


          The research findings revealed as follows: 1) The level of entrepreneurial characteristics of private school administrators in Bangkok was at the highest level as a whole.  By descending order of mean in individual aspect, team building was highest, risk assessment was followed, and internal locus of control was lowest. 2) The level of strategic management of private schools in Bangkok was at highest level, as a whole. By descending order of mean in individual aspect, direction setting was highest, strategic control and evaluation was followed, and strategic formulation was lowest. 3) The entrepreneurial characteristics of private school administrators in Bangkok totally affected strategic management of private schools in Bangkok which could predict strategic management as a whole at 86.1.
