Development of Community Supported Agriculture Model for Sustainability of Farmers in Suburban Areas

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to examine community supported agriculture model for sustainability of farmers in suburban areas. Qualitative research methodology was employed and used 36 key informants for the research. In-depth interviews were utilized to collect the data and it was analyzed with content analysis. The findings revealed that components of community supported agriculture model for sustainability of farmers in suburban areas consisted of incorporating a community supported  agriculture organization, creating safety and diversity of rice, product management, determining reasonable commitment to share, communication for linking relationships with consumers, creating opportunities to meet and educational exchange. Conditions for success of community supported agriculture model for sustainability of farmers in suburban areas comprised of farmer adaptation, farmer aggregation, cooperation from consumers, support each other.
