Development of Professional Teacher Competency Indicators Evaluation Criteria and Evaluation Form for Student under Rajabhat Chiang Mai University

Abstract


The objectives of this research were 1) to develop professional teacher competency indicators and evaluation criteria for student under Rajabhat Chiang Mai University. 2) to investigate the validity and 3) to implement professional teacher competency evaluation criteria. The process of research consists of three stages were 1) developing professional teacher competency indicators and evaluation criteria for student under Rajabhat Chiang Mai University. 2) investigating the content validity constructed validity and 3) implementing professional teacher competency evaluation criteria. The research findings were as follows: 1) The professional teacher competency for student under Rajabhat Chiang Mai University composed of 7 competencies and 28 indicators as follows : 1) content knowledge consisted of 3 indicators ; 2) professional teacher knowledge consisted of 7 indicators ; 3) learning management consisted of 5 indicators ; 4) communication and use of technology for communication consisted of 3 indicators ; 5) thinking consisted of 3 indicators ; 6) community relationship consisted of 2 indicators ; and 7) teacher professional morals and ethics consisted of 5 indicators. The professional teacher competency and indicators were appropriated and comprehensive with conceptual framework for the development of professional teacher competency. In term of the implementation, the results indicated that all indicators and evaluation criteria could evaluate professional teacher competency. Competency evaluation form had content validity and inter- rater reliability. The professional teacher competency for student under Rajabhat Chiang Mai University constructed validity and professional teacher competency for student under Rajabhat Chiang Mai University were at the good level for all 7 competencies
