Teacher’s Opinions in Promoting the 21st Century Skills of Preschooler in Nakhon Pathom Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 Buraphaseuksa Goup

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to study the role of teachers in promoting the 21st century skills of preschoolers consisting of creativity, critical thinking and problem solving, communication and collaboration skills. The sample of this study was the entire population consisting of 67 teachers who were responsible for Kindergarten 1-3 in the academic year 2019, from 14 schools under Nakhon Pathom Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, Buraphaseuksa Group. The research instrument was questionnaire on the role of teachers in promoting the 21st century skills of preschoolers in Nakhon Pathom Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, Buraphaseuksa Goup. The data analysis was conducted using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation and the results were presented as tables accompanying the article. The results showed that, in overall, the role of teachers in promoting the 21st century skills of preschoolers was rated at high level ( gif.latex?x\bar{}= 4.39, S.D. = 0.62). Considering each aspect, the role of teachers in promoting creativity showed highest average value ( gif.latex?x\bar{}= 4.45, S.D. = 0.64), followed by communication skills ( gif.latex?x\bar{}= 4.40, S.D. = 0.61), while the role of teachers in promoting the critical thinking (gif.latex?x\bar{} = 4.36, S.D. = 0.61), and problem-solving skills and provision of collaboration opportunity showed similar average values ( gif.latex?x\bar{}= 4.36, S.D. = 0.64).
