Abstract

The objectives of this research were to1) evaluate the effectiveness of the Technical English Reading Model, focusing on Task and Project Based Learning 2) to study the effectiveness of the instructional model to enhance reading comprehension and  creative thinking 3) study the development of creative thinking and 4) study the satisfaction towards the developed teaching model. The samples were the second year of Food and Nutrition students from Technology of Home Economics Faculty, RMUTP. The instruments were;1) the reading activities tasks; 2) the pre-post reading comprehension tests; 3) the test for creative thinking; and 4) the set of questionnaires  to investigate the satisfaction towards the developed teaching model. The finding were      1) the efficiency of Technical English Reading Model was at a good level, 2) the students’ reading comprehension achievement after using the developed teaching model was significantly higher at the 0.05 level, 3) the development of creative thinking were significantly higher than before using the instruction model at the 0.05 level and 4) the students’ satisfaction towards the instructional model was at high level.
