This research aimed to 1) compare students’ learning achievements before and after instruction by using STAD.  2) find the Effectiveness Index of instruction. 3) explore the effect of the GPA and the average mathematics’ grades on students’ learning achievements and 4) study students’ satisfaction towards the instruction using STAD. The population of this study was 2 classes, in total, was 50 undergraduates from the Faculty of Science and Technology who registered for Probability and Statistics in the first semester of the academic year 2019. The sample was one class consisted of 23 students selected by cluster sampling. The instruments used were 1) learning management plan 2) achievement test with 0.40 – 0.91 difficulty level, discrimination index between 0.20 and 0.83 and reliability equals 0.84 and 3) students’ satisfaction questionnaire with 0.84 Cronbach’s alpha reliability coefficient. The statistics used in this study were percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, Effectiveness Index, Paired sample t-test, and Stepwise multiple regression.

The findings were as follows. 1) The students’ achievement using STAD were higher than before instruction at significance level .05. 2) The Effectiveness Index equaled 0.55. 3) The average mathematics’ grade affected the students’ learning achievements. The regression equation was students’ learning achievements  (whenis average mathematics’ grade), and 4) the students’ satisfaction towards the learning management was high in all aspects.
