Decha chatwan


China's emergence as one of the world's leading economies made China realize the importance of the country's image because the image affects credibility, economic expansion, and investment, including being accepted by the world community. The Chinese government wants to correct the negative image created by the West through Chinese textbooks for foreigners as one of the channels to communicate their Chinese image. This article uses the conceptual framework of image and discourse to point out the communication of Chinese image discourse through Chinese language learning textbooks for foreigners that correspond to the policy of the Chinese government in terms of image dimensions and image discourse with the nationalist ideology behind it.
