GUIDELINE OF STRATEGIES FOR DEVELOPING A FLIGHT SCHOOL AFTER CHANGES IN REGULATIONS BY THE CIVIL AVIATION AUTHORITY OF THAILAND

Abstract
Since 2023 through April 2024, the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand has announced new regulatory changes that have altered the qualifications and requirements for obtaining an aviation license. These changes include specific qualifications for license holders and adjustments to the training curricula. Naturally, these modifications have had a direct impact on various businesses within the aviation industry, which must adapt their operational methods. Many businesses need to plan and develop new operational strategies, including aviation schools, which must update and enhance their curricula as well as develop their internal staff to meet the new requirements. This ensures that these schools can continue to operate effectively in the future.
This article presents a strategy development approach for a private aviation school in light of the recent changes to the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand's regulations. The author identifies potential weaknesses and obstacles that aviation schools might encounter due to these changes. Consequently, the author applies SWOT Analysis to discuss the results. The objectives are: 1) to explore strategies for the development of the aviation school, 2) to study knowledge about strategy development approaches, and 3) to provide actionable strategies that can be applied by aviation school operators following the regulatory changes by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand.
