This academic article’s objective is to convey the roles of social workers and welfare services in hospitals. Social worker is considered a person who drives the welfare state policy into important action by focusing on solving and developing society at the same time. Social work science is classified as one of the branches of social science that aims to study the human-human behavior or to study the phenomena related to the coexistence of human beings. The philosophy and way of thinking of this profession is: the philosophy of humanism, respecting human values ​​and dignity, and denying patronage relationships. The social practice of the social work profession has the essence of social reform or the priority of social reform. Social work is a profession that promotes and supports social change in solving the problems of human relationships and social systems. Social work must come in to help during the time when people interact with their environment. For this reason, human rights and social justice are fundamental to the practice of social work. Social workers' values ​​are based on understanding the differences in individual behavior. At the same time, all groups of people must be respected as human beings equally and to accept the decision of the individual as well. The hospital is a unit that plays an important role in social welfare services. Therefore, when a social worker who has a role to take care of social problems along with creating stability in life and help alleviate the troubles related to health and wellness. They also need to work with doctors, nurses and other staff to improve people’s quality of life.
