Relationship between the Roles of Administrators and the Performance Standards of Teachers in Schools in the Southern Krungthon Group, Bangkok

Abstract
The purposes of this research are to 1) study the level of the roles of administrators in schools in the Southern Krungthon Group, Bangkok, 2) investigate the level of performance standards of teachers in schools in the Southern Krungthon Group, Bangkok, and 3) examine the relationship between the roles of administrators and the performance standards of teachers in schools in the Southern Krungthon Group, Bangkok. This descriptive research recruited administrators and teachers in schools as the units of analysis, with a sample of 353 individuals, including 45 administrators and 308 teachers, selected through stratified random sampling based on districts. The research tools include a questionnaire regarding the roles of administrators by Mintzberg's ideas and the performance standards of teachers based on the Professional Standards (4th edition) of the Teachers' Council of Thailand, issued in 2019. Statistical analyses involve frequencies, percentages, means (x̅), standard deviations (S.D.), and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficients.
The findings are as follows: 1) the overall roles of administrators in the Southern Krungthon Group, Bangkok, are at a high level, with decision-making roles having the highest mean, followed by information-related roles, and interpersonal roles having the lowest. 2) The overall performance standards of teachers in schools in the Southern Krungthon Group, Bangkok, are at a high level, with the highest mean in the area of fulfilling teaching duties, followed by relationship with parents and community, and the lowest in managing learning activities. 3) There is a significant positive relationship between administrators' roles and teachers' performance standards in schools in the Southern Krungthon Group, Bangkok, at a statistical significance level of .01, a positive relationship that gears toward the same direction.
