REINFORCEMENT OF COOPERATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY OF GRADUATE SCHOOL, MAHAMAKUT BUDDHIST UNIVERSITY

Abstract

The objectives of the research entitled “Reinforcement of Cooperate Social Responsibility of Graduate School, Mahamakut Buddhist University” were as follows 1) To analyze the cooperate social responsibility of Graduate School, Mahamakut Buddhist University as it being in general, and 2) To present the process of reinforcement of cooperate social responsibility of Graduate School, Mahamakut Buddhist University. The research was the qualitative method collected data from the primary sources i.e., the Tipitaka Commentaries and obtained from in-depth interview with 23 key informants together with 9 key informants in focus group discussion. The data were content analysis and narrative explanation.

The research found that social responsibility conditions of Graduate School, Mahamakut Buddhist University is more individualistic than the overall image of students. The CSR is in accordance with the activities that the Graduate School asks for help but is not yet volunteer responsibility. Graduate students are in middle age on average and contain their own experience, therefore, they have responsibility to society according to their roles and duties. For the faculty of Graduate Studies, there is no stipulation of the responsibility for society to be concrete.

The process of enhancing social responsibility of graduate students Mahamakut Buddhist University has to start at the MBU Graduate School regulation, strategy, policy, curriculum, action plan and projects by clearly specifying the roles and responsibilities that must be responsible for social responsibility at all levels and dimensions. Emphasizing on each subject in the curriculum mapping, CSR could be implemented. CSR should be promoted in the conscience level, strengthen self-discipline and use educational systems as a process of social responsibility development based on the body of knowledge called the CSRA Model.
