Decentralization and local development of Thai local government organizations.

Abstract

In this article concerning on decentralization and local development of local government organizations, the author presented the view that to develop the local administration for achieving the effective development through a decentralized model of local government organization which plays as a mechanism for driving the legal framework implemented. The decentralization and local self-government are an important principle of democratic governance. The real decentralization allows returning the legal authority back to the people or equally sharing the participation to local people. This model will provide a wide variety of roles, duties and an opportunity to local people for any participation. If it was successful, there will be of great profits to the strength of democracy in country. It was true that local development organization which is close to the people in the locality, should have right to govern themselves through making plan where to go and how to achieve such goal for their right direction of local community. The local community directly reflects the local people’s voices as well as cooperating for development achievement. Therefore, the decentralization of central government to a local administration is the main key of country development in general.
