Guidelines for Developing and Promoting Temple Affairs Managers in Buddhism Affairs, Phuphiang District, Nan Province

Abstract

This research article is a part of Guidelines for Developing and Promoting Temple Affairs Managers in Buddhism Affairs, Phu Phiang District, Nan Province’s research. The purpose of this study were 1) to study knowledge and rule of temple affairs managers in Buddhism Affairs 2) to know the current situation and problem on duty of temple affairs managers in Phu Phiang District, Nan Province and 3) to present a guideline for developing and promoting temple affairs managers in Buddhism Affairs Phu Phiang District, Nan Province. This article focused on the third purpose of this study. A qualitative approach and Grounded theory was used in this study. A research context was at Phu Phiang District, Nan Province which in the Northern Thailand. The participants were 18; consist of abbot, temple affairs managers and community leader. Data were collected through in-depth interview and participatory observation. The result demonstrated that MAP’s model should be a model for this context, which contributes consist of sincere, polite, expert, vision, volunteer, coordination, participation and network. Sincere is the most important, which temple affairs managers use for accounting’s work, manage temple’s asset and benefit.Methods for developing and promoting could be training, learning by doing and coaching. The Threefold should adapted to develop them then finally we will have a photo-type of temple affairs managers. Theirs will aware in Buddhism Affairs 8 parts; Sangha Administration, Buddhist Monastic Education, Propagation of Buddhism, Meditation practice, Protect Buddhism, Religious places, Religious property and Buddhism promotion. Skill of management and publication will conserve on Buddhism Affairs and Buddhism to sustainable.
