MEDITATION PRACTICE TO HEAL HEALTH THROUGH THE MEDITATION COURSE AT SAN KANG PLA TEMPLE SAN KAMPHAENG DISTRICT CHIANG MAI PROVINCE

Abstract
This research contains 3 objectives: 1) to study the principles of Buddhist meditation, 2) to study the process of healing the health of Wat San Kang Pla Meditation Center, San Kamphaeng District, Chiang Mai Province and 3) to propose the meditation model for healing the health of Wat San Kang Pla Meditation Center, San Kamphaeng District, Chiang Mai Province. It was qualitative research and field works collecting data from target groups by in-depth interview, focus group, and observation. The gained data was analyzed and written in a descriptive type. The results were found that the Buddhist meditation is the concentration appearing as an important teaching in many sutas, it supports the attainment of path, fruits and Nibbana. It was also conducive to physical and mental health if practicing in daily life.
The process of meditation for healing the health of Wat San Kang Pla Meditation Center is to strictly follow practical course, namely: 1) consuming nutritious food and herbal medicine using, 2) exercise with the principle of four postures awareness for its balance, focusing on walking posture, 3) mental managing adhering to the practice of mental training, using Buddhist methods of diseases treatment with the Buddhist medicine, such as preaching the Ten Perceptions or Seven Factors of Enlightenment, 4) living with natural environment, and 5) hygienic practices of both physical and environmental hygiene.
Meditation model for health remedies of Wat San Kang Pla Meditation Center, San Kamphaeng district, Chiang Mai province found that meditation patterns for healing physical and mental health provides 3 courses of Dhamma practice, namely 1) Life-Leading Dhamma Course (3 days), 2) Metta Meditation Course (5 days), 3) Mindfulness Meditation Course (5 days). It consists of theoretical and practical study, such as homage paying based on the foundation of mindfulness, walking meditation, meditation based on the 4 foundations of mindfulness, public service activities, and examining the meditative practice according to the order of 16 insight knowledge.
