Abstract
Newspaper Photographer to News and Photo Reporter by Profession Development in Digital Age is qualitative research using a semi-structured in-depth interview method. Key informants were 20 news photographers who had evolved into digital age reporting and 5 journalism experts. Then, the researcher converted the record into a transcript and regrouped it from issue to issue for better understanding. After getting a result, it was analyzed by comparing similarities and differences to other studies.
The results of the study showed that the Newspaper Photographer to News and Photo Reporter by Profession Development in Digital Age must have 10 competencies as follows (Sort most to least) (1) Selecting News Images Performance (2) Arranging Pictures Performance (3) News Writing Performance (4) News Capturing Performance (5) Video Shooting and Photo Editing Performance (6) Using Digital Age’s Tools Performance (7) Using Social Media Platforms Performance (8) Analyzing News Consumer Behavior Performance (9) Able to Work Fast Performance (10) Having Broad Knowledge Performance.
