A Study of Problems and Causes for Cyber Bullying Behaviors among Secondary School Students in the Three Southern Border Provinces

Abstract

This study aimed at studying problems and causes of cyber bullying behaviors among secondary school students in the three southern border provinces. Data were collected through group interviews secondary school students in the three southern border provinces aged between 13 to 18 years old with the total of 55 students and data were collected through group interviews of 12 teachers and school directors in the three southern border provinces. Findings indicated that a study of problems cyber bullying behaviors among secondary school students consisted of defamation, gossiping, impersonation and exclusion removing
or blocking off people from their groups on cyberspace. The cause of the problem was from family violence, violence group, media violence, and frustration. However, relevant organizations and schools can use the results of research into the proactive policy process in order to solve the problem in a timely manner. The teachers and parents are important people to monitoring and observing students’ behavior so that the prevention process to be effective.
