The Development of Local Curriculum to Preserve Peat Swamp Forest of Wat Bor Lor School, Chian Yai, Nakhon Si Thammarat

Abstract
This research aims to study the context of peat swamp forest in Ban Bo Lo area and develop the local curriculum, Phru people, for Bo Lo School, Maejao-uhau Subdistrict, Chian Yai District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. This study is characterized as qualitative research and participatory action research. The results of the study showed that Bo Lo community is located in Khlong Khong swamp forest area which is a large swamp forest connected to the Kuan Kreang swamp forest. The community’s awareness about history and legend is linked to Muang Nakhon Si Thammarat legend that appears as a story until the present.Located in the swamp area, the villagers in this area rely on peat land resources for livelihood and creative culture, many cases of wisdom, especially fishing, finding honey, and wisdom about Krajood. The local curriculum for students in the second level of Ban Bo Lo School can be divided into 5 units: Unit 1 Our Bo Lo Village, Unit 2 My Village Style, Unit 3 Khlong Khong Peat Swamp, Unit 4 Khlong Khong Peat Swamp Wisdom, and Unit 5 Proud of My Home. The goal of designing this local curriculum is to enables the students to know and learn about the resources in their community leading to love, cherish natural, and cultural resources in the community.
