Packaging Design for Phuket Local Desserts for Tourism from Old Town Phuket Identity

Abstract

This research article was aimed to develop the packaging for Phuket’s local desserts to promote the tourism. The action research was conducted by using a quantitative research method. The process included exploring the identity of Phuket Old Town by a field study, analyzing the data, synthesizing the design works in terms of brand images and packages, and exploring the acceptances from tourists. The findings revealed that the packaging design for Phuket local desserts was well accepted from the tourists and able to represent the identity of Phuket Town. The desserts with the packaging design also had potential to be souvenirs for tourists visiting the province.
