The Development of Curriculum and Providing Programs through Sustainable Human Resource Management for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) of the Special Economic Zone in Northern Provinces of Thailand

Abstract

This study had three objectives: 1) to explore the training needs in sustainable human resource management of SMEs entrepreneurs, 2 to develop indicators of sustainable human resource management for SMEs entrepreneurs, and 3) to set up and create a training course base on sustainable human resource management for SMEs entrepreneurs in the provinces that are special economic zones on the northern border (Chiang Rai and Tak provinces). The mixed method research procedure was applied in this study. The research found that SMEs business entrepreneurs required knowledge and skills in human resource management to enhance their ability in high level as 63.47 percent. In addition, the researchers found that the Sustainable Human Resource Management Approach indicator was harmoniously consistent with the components indicator model, which consisted of 1) human resource planning, 2) job analysis, 3) human resource development, 4) contributing employee motivation, 5) setting up the systematic divisions and works, and 6) employee retention. The results of the training satisfaction assessment showed that the entrepreneurs had a very high level of satisfaction as 4.76 out of 5.
