EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT QUALITY OF SECONDARY SCHOOLS UNDER THE OFFICE OF THE BASIC EDUCATION COMMISSION IN UPPER NORTHEAST

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to investigate the factors and study factors that influence the difference of educational management quality in secondary schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission in the upper northeast. The multi-case comparative design of qualitative research was used for this study. The purposive selection was applied for choosing the 9 different qualities of secondary schools considered from the 3rd round of external quality assessment criteria score. The educational quality assessment report was collected together with interview and observation techniques for data collection. The data were analyzed by interpretive understanding.


The results of this study found that: The factors influencing the difference of educational management quality in secondary schools were 6 factors. 1) Administrators factor, the working of factors consisted of (1) administration and management ability (2) having a broad vision (3) academic leadership (4) transformational leadership and (5) focusing on school based management by holding the principles of decentralization and emphasizing on participation. 2) Teachers factor composed of (1) professional respect, compassionate and caring disciples, being a good model for students, self-improvement and adaptability to parents and community (2) having ability for teaching and (3) participation. 3) The student factors included (1) self-development (2) ability to adapt and change. 4) The parent factors consisted of (1) participation (2) cooperation and (3) supervision and promotion of student learning. 5) The school board factor was participation. Finally, 6) the community factors included (1) participation and (2) collaboration.
