Strategic Human Resource Management and Advantage the Competition of Small Hotel Business in Thailand

Abstract

This research article are objectives aim of this report is to study the model of the strategic human resource management and strategic management influences the competitive advantage of small hotel operators in Thailand. The integrative method of qualitative and quantitative were used. The questionnaire and interview were used to collect data. The questionnaire was created and developed by the researcher under conceptual framework. According from the data that were gained from 400 samples of the worker in small hotel and guest house (maximum 60 rooms) classified by size of business and region (2014) region and 169 The Southern region using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).


The results were summarized as follows: (1) Human resource management in pattern of the Michigan Department had a positive influence on the competitive advantage of small hotels. (2) Human resource management in pattern of the Harvard University model had a positive influence on the competitive advantage of small hotels. And (3) The strategic management processes had a positive influence on the competitive advantage of small hotels. All factors could increase business profits of small hotels and guest houses business in Thailand therefore entrepreneur could use this model for further development.
