The Causal Relationship Model Affecting the Effectiveness of the Secondary Schools under the Office of Basic Education Commission in Central Part of Thailand

Abstract

The research article purposes of this study were : (1) to determine leadership, organization competency, learning organization, commitment to organization, and secondary school effectiveness, (2) to propose a causal relationship model, organization competency, learning organization, organizational commitment which affected secondary school effectiveness, (3) to test the congruence of the hypothesized model and empirical data, and (4) to examine the influence among factors affect the effectiveness of secondary schools. This research was a correlational descriptive research. The study sample were administrators and teachers of the secondary schools totaling 450 persons. The instrument used for collecting the data was a questionnaire. The statistics used for analyzing the collected data were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Confirmatory Factor Analysis, and Path Analysis.


The research findings, it was found that (1) leadership, learning organization, organizational commitment and secondary school effectiveness were at a high level, (2) the proposed causal relationship model affecting school effectiveness in terms of the way that learning organization directly influenced school effectiveness; organizational commitment directly affected school effectiveness, but leadership of organization’s administrator did not directly affected school effectiveness and neither did organization competency directly affect school effectiveness, (3) the proposed causal relationship model was valid and well fitted to empirical data, and (4) organizational commitment was a factor affected school effectiveness at highest level, Leadership directly and negatively affected school effectiveness.
