Guidelines for Increasing the Efficiency of Warehouse Operating Systems for Product Manufacturers in Thailand
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research article aims to study (1) the level of leadership, change management, acceptance of warehouse management technology, and the efficiency of warehouse operation system in manufacturing plants, (2) analyze the influence of leadership, change management, and the acceptance of warehouse management technology on the efficiency of warehouse operation system in manufacturing plants, and (3) propose guidelines to enhancing the efficiency of warehouse operation systems in manufacturing plants' warehouses in Thailand. It is a mixed-method research, including quantitative research collecting data from a sample group of 440 factory supervisors. The sample size is inversely proportional to the number of empirical variables. The research instrument was a questionnaire. The statistics used were mean, standard deviation, and structural equation modeling analysis. Qualitative research was conducted by collecting data through in-depth interviews with 20 experts, including executives of manufacturing plants and warehouse management scholars. Data was analyzed using content analysis techniques. Findings are as follows: (1) the efficiency of warehouse operation system had the highest mean (= 4.05) followed by acceptance of warehouse management technology, leadership, and change management which were at a high level (= 4.02, 3.98, 3.85), (2) change management, leadership, and acceptance of warehouse management technology had overall influences on the efficiency of the warehouse operation systems in manufacturing system with collectively accounting for 79% of the variance, (3) the proposed guidelines to enhance operational performance include developing leadership, change management skills, promoting technology use, and evaluating and improving work processes.
