Abstract

This study aimed to research schools as learning organizations, to study on skills of the 21st century, and to find out the relationship between learning organizations and the 21st century skills of schools under the authority of The Secondary Educational Service Area Office 31. The sample groups of this study were the schools under the authority of The Secondary Educational Service Area Office 31. The total number of sample size was 88 teachers. The five-rating-scale questionnaire was used as the data collection instrument. The statistical instruments used for data analysis were mean, standard deviation, and Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient.


The results of the study were as follows 1) The overall picture and all aspects of the study on learning organizations under the authority of The Secondary Educational Service Area Office 31 were reported high. The findings, according to each dimension, revealed that the highest mean score was in the skillful personnel aspect. 2) The overall picture and all aspects of the study on the 21st century skills of the schools under the authority of the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 31 were reported high. The findings, according to each dimension, revealed that there were two dimensions carrying the same highest mean score; they were the skill of learning and innovation as well as the skill of life and occupation. 3) The overall picture and all aspects of the study on the relationship between learning organizations and the 21st century skills of the schools under the authority of The Secondary Educational Service Area Office 31 revealed the positive correlation with the statistical significance at .01 and the correlation coefficient at .89. In addition, the results of each aspect showed that the highest level of relationship fell into learning organizations performing into the aspect of visions correlating with 21st century skills, the aspect of learning skills and innovations, and the aspect of information, media, and technology using skills with a high level in correlation and the correlation coefficient level was reported at .83.
