The Development of Reading Aloud Skill Development through Phonics-Based Exercises for Grade 3 Students at Darul Furqan School, Narathiwat Province

      The objectives of this research were: 1) to develop Arabic reading aloud skills  through targeted reading exercises, and 2) to evaluate the effectiveness of these exercises.  The study focused on 38 Grade 3/4 students enrolled in the first semester of the 2023 academic year at Darul Furqan School, selected via purposive sampling. Research instruments included: 1) lesson plans integrating reading aloud exercises, 2) Arabic reading aloud skill exercises, and 3) assessment forms for evaluating Arabic reading aloud skills. The statistics used for data analysis included percentage, mean, standard deviation, and development scores calculated using the relative gain score formula.

      The study results indicated the following:1) The development of Arabic reading aloud skills among Grade 3 students at Darul Furqan School showed a significant improvement, with an  average post-test score exceeding the pre-test score. The relative gain score calculation revealed an average development score of 63.44, reflecting a high level of improvement. 2) The effectiveness of the Arabic reading aloud exercises was measured at 90.20/86.58, surpassing the established efficiency criteria of 80/80. This demonstrates that the exercises designed and developed by the researcher were highly effective in enhancing students' Arabic reading aloud skills.
