The purposes of this study were 1) to develop a STEM education learning unit on geological resources to enhance the collaboration skills and learning achievement of eighth grade students 2) to study the effects of using a STEM education learning unit on geological resources regarding collaboration skills and learning achievement and 3) to study eighth grade students’ opinions toward learning with a STEM education learning unit on geological resources. The participants of this study were forty students who were studying in eighth grade from one classroom in the first semester of the 2018 academic year and selected using purposive selection. The research instruments used in this study included 1) a STEM education learning unit on geological resources 2) collaboration skills self-evaluation form 3) learning achievement test and 4) students’ opinions toward learning with a STEM education learning unit on geological resources questionnaire. The results could be summarized as follows: 1) the Index of Congruency mean scores were in a range between .67-1.00 in all components. The appropriateness mean scores of language usage and the application were in a range between 4.00 -5.00, which was at a high level. 2) The collaboration skills mean score of the students after learning with a STEM education learning unit on geological resources was higher than before learning at .05 level of statistical significance. 3) The learning achievement mean score of the students after learning with a STEM Education learning unit on geological resources was higher than before learning at .05 level of statistical significance. And 4) the eighth grade students’ opinions toward learning with a STEM education learning unit on geological resources mean scores were in a range between 4.16-4.36 in all aspects
