Abstract

This article investigates wellness tourism within the context of wellness activity trends in the hotel and resort sector. The objectives are to; 1) collect and present data on wellness tourism, and 2) analyze wellness trends and activities to provide guidance for service development in hotels and resorts. The study employed qualitative methods by collecting secondary data and using content analysis to draw conclusions regarding wellness tourism trends. Findings reveal that wellness hotels and resorts are rising in popularity, with market growth rates increasing due to their relaxation-focused services and distinctive wellness service identities. Therefore, it is suggested to develop integrated service models focusing on wellness knowledge, convenience amenities, and image building to establish competitive advantages for hotels and resorts in future market competition.
